Shredded tights necklace

Yay I finally managed to get round to making something again... at last! I'm suffering with a split eardrum now caused by me being ill the last week or so, so that's really not helping me feel any better... So to cheer me up I've been doing some major blog hopping and I've come across many fantastic ideas that i want to give a try and here's the first one!
This is a shredded tights necklace, the idea came from Lady Smaggle and I feel in love with it, so had to make one myself and add a lil twist to the design.

And I can enter this necklace as my piece for this weeks One Stop Craft Challenge 'Charmed'..

you can't see my charms in the main pic so I've added another photo to show the little star charms and the crochet beads I've added to the necklace.

I've used:

  • Grey and black tights
  • 2 keyring loops
  • Silver clasp
  • 5 black and white crochet beads
  • 11 star charms
  • Silver jumprings

An unusual tagging...

So here's an unusual form of tagging, it's been passed on to me by Zoe. Right, so here are the rules :The instructions are to go to where you keep your photo's on your PC, choose the 6th folder, then the 6th picture.....post on your blog and explain.
So mine is a photo from my old gliding club.. the white glider in the foreground belongs to a friend and the red glider is my dad's, that I fly and love... it was a beautiful hot, sunny day and we were dossing around in the sun having lunch and I thought the scene made a good photo...
Now I have to pick 5 to pass this on to...
  1. Jen
  2. Sarah
  3. Jenny
  4. Donna
  5. Jaime

This fortnights challenge is to follow the inspiration found in a photo...I didn't take the colours or the bird as my inspiration.. I took the leaves and found a pendant that was suitable.. kept it plain and silver as colour made it look wrong.. and then I added some ladybird silver beads as they added some character to my leaf..
I've used:
  • Silver leaf pendant
  • 2 silver wire bound balls
  • Silver chain
  • Heart toggle clasp
  • 4 silver ladybird beads

Altered shop jewellery

So during my time down south i've bought a fair few new clothes and now I've got the problem I just don't have the jewellery to match..so I had to do some altering of shop bought jewellery as I couldn't get new beads in time for going out in one of my new tops 2mo night... I added pink beads and changed some of the black beads and reorganised the necklace so there wasn't too much of one colour too close together... and now I have spare beads where I removed certain colours from the necklace :)
I've used:
  • DP necklace
  • H&M earrings
  • Pink glass bicone beads
  • Jumprings
  • Recycled eyepins
