Another glitter wreath

Finally got round to finishing my own wicker glittery wreath and after nabbing an idea from the heart shaped wreath I made the other week I got the perfect finishing touches for this one. I tried to keep it simple and originally it didn't have the glittery flowers but it just looked a bit bare and one-sided so after trip to hobbycraft was required! Although you can't see it the ribbon actually ahs 'merry christmas' written on it in gold caligraphy. The poor floor under this wreath is now covered in red glitter and shall be sparkling for months to come lol!
I'm linking this up to the fab linky parties shown on the right hand side!

Bauble Wreath

I felt the need to make a bauble wreath after seeing so any lovely ones out there on everyone's blogs.. so now our house has a few wreaths but hey I'm sure I can find many places to hang them..
The one thing all the tutorials forget to mention is how fiddly, messy and infuriating the whole process is and after an hour of frustration glueing baubles on I spent another hour picking all the excess glue off lol.
Dread to think how many baubles I've used, I stopped counting after emptying the 4th box, though I was using quite small baubles compared to the majority of people so it's no surprise I needed so many. There was glitter everywhere, over my desk, the chair, the floor and now all down the stairs to the front door where it hangs now lol!

'Broken' Swing Card

I found this card idea whilst blog hopping and thought I'd give it a try.. it originates from a swing card, but the designer cut too many lines and cut the swing part off lol so she added a centre piece attached by invisible thread so the centre piece spins round when it's opened. The card also fits in with 2 of this week's challenges... Papertake Weekly 'Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow' and Cute Card Thursday 'Snow+Snowflakes'.

I've used:

  • Blue marble card
  • Snowflake blue forever friends paper (thanks donna)
  • 2 xmas forever friends images (thanks donna)
  • 2 fabric snowflakes
  • 2 snowflake brads
  • Swirl stamp
  • Silver ink
  • Clear beading thread

Sugar Nellie Xmas card

So here's my entry for this weeks Spoon Full Of Sugar challenge where the theme was to use check patterns and also for the My Time To Craft challenge where the theme was circles.
yes i know it's a little early for xmas cards but i couldn't get the bits i wanted for my first card idea off the laptop as there's no ink in our printer so couldn't print the papers i wanted...so i recycled a few bits of xmas stuff and made this card instead.
I used; sugar nellie image (from donna) all watercoloured in xmas colours, check print ribbon (from a cake originally lol), green cardstock, merry christmas peel off, 4 red gems, brown paper with xmas pattern and circles from a hole punch to make snow :)
