Love Sign Tutorial

I thought I'd share the tutorial for the love sign I made for Valentines day, it can be changed for any other four letter word as well...
You'll need:
  • 2 contrasting colours of paint
  • 4 papier mache letters
  • superstrength glue
  • lollysticks
  • paintbrush
1. Take the second and third letters of your word and paint them the same colour.
2. Take the first and last letters and paint them the other colour you chose.
3. Leave them to dry.
4.Once the letters are dry flip them over.
5.Cut small pieces of the lollysticks, paste one side with glue and stick them over the joints of the L and V. (You can also add a little glue to the top flats of the V for extra security)
6. Repeat the lollystick glueing process with the other letters and join the L+V to the O+E.
7. Now the boring bit, let the glue fully set.

8. Paint the backs of the letters to cover the lollysticks and any excess glue.
9. Leave to dry once more.

And that's it all done and ready to decorate with!
Thanks for having me Amie and I hope you're feeling better soon!

All you need is..

So I know just about everybody out there in blogland has given this a go now but I still thought our mantle needed one so I went ahead and made one too.

The chocolate brown and red colourscheme seems to be creeping into our house, and it worked beautifully on this project. Good ol' dulux tester paint pots, what would I do without them lol.

I think the mantle is coming along nicely surrounded by all the bits I've been making :)

I'm linking this to the lovely linky parties listed on the right hand side and to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Today is..........

......... the relaunch of the Kaboodle Doodle challenge blog and the first challege has a Love theme to fit in with the latest kit that is being released... the kit is called Scribble and contains lots of valentines and love based papers and embellishments... the KD girls make lovely cards and once again I felt the need to go 'off piste' with my DT piece and avoid making a card.. just to be the odd one out lol... so I've made a love baton.. or love wand as it has been renamed by the KD gals...

  • Hobbycraft heart baton
  • Black lace
  • Red, white and black ribbon
  • KD scribble paper
  • Black, red and wooden buttons
  • White dotty flower
  • Love jigsaw piece

So go have a looksie at the blog and see what prizes are on offer for entering the challenge... and while you're there enter the blog candy as well!

Last minute again!

So once again here I am the night before challenges end suddenly realising that half finished card I've got laying on the desk is meant to be complete and blogged as my entries.. so a quick whizz of a finish and here we are...This is my entry for the Cupcake Craft Challenge '3 pieces of cardstock, 2 embellies and 1 ribbon', Papertake Weekly 'Dawny's Sketch #7' and A Spoon Full Of Sugar 'Love is in the air'.

Just to say...

Ok so here's my revision break card for tonight... I gave myself half hour to get away from aircraft legislation reading.... so this card fits in with this weeks Daring Cardmakers challenge as you had to make a quick card taking half hour or less.... Stamp Something challenge as i used their sketch as the basis for the card.... and the A-Muse-A-Palooza Challenge as i used an A-Muse image and some bling too...this card will also be appearing again somewhere next week ;)
So i've used; some gingham ribbon, gem hearts, gems, ribbed paper, white cardstock, coffee card strip, 'love you' dome sticker, red textured paper (from my lots to do goodies) and the A-Muse image called 'Sky Writer'
