Todays goodies.....

So today i've made an ATC for a swap i owe on the do crafts forum and a load more candy purses. Had to make more candy purses as my friends daughters' 18th birthday as the number of guests went up to 15 from 8 so here's the last 6 i had to make, i used one of the previously shown pictures on here. So now a mixture of girly coloured purses and some more bold, stylish coloured purses :) these all went down a real treat! Forgot to mention all the papers i've used are from my free download from winning last weeks funky fairys challenge, so 'do ya doodle'?

Police Training Card

Here's the latest card I've made, it's part of the order my mum, finished her card order now :)
It's for a friend of her's who is going into police training in may, so she decided she wanted a humourous card to remind him he'll be a learner all over again in a new job.

More new cards

Here's the cards i've made for a friend who's birthday is tomorrow, didn't find that out till today as his wife never mentioned a date when she asked me to make it lol.... and the other is for their daughter for her 18th in a few weeks time..... and i've also found out i've got more candy purses to make for her party as well lol!

More Candy Purses............!

More candy purses... These were made for a friend's 18th for her to give to her friends full of posh choccies or whatever she decides. Not bad, first order for them on the same day i gave the sample ones out :) So hopefully these are stylish enough to suit the evening....

Baby card

Just made this baby card, for someone who's baby is due any day but she still doesn't know what she's having yet. So hopefully this card isn't too gender specific lol, still loving the pinkpetticoat images i recently accquired so i'm more than happy to have made this card as it gave me a chance to use another stamp image :)
Guess i'd best get ready for a boring shift at work this afternoon, roll on 8pm so i can come home!

Bikini card

Bikini card made for a friend's brother for his 40th birthday. Not done a bikini card before but i'm quite happy with the result, cheeky but cute :)

Funky Fairys Challenge

So here we go with the first funky fairys challenge i have ever done, using one of the free papers from the blog :) I added 2 extra flowers on top as embellishments as such just to make it look more interesting. Hey i can even make us of these now, seeing as i am in need of storage drawers for pens and bits as i dont have desk drawers anymore in the new house lol.
So what do you all think?

Candy purses

After blog hopping last night i saw this great idea for making candy purses, guess as a brit i should say sweet purses...just found the video for the blog i found the idea on...dawn's stampin' studio! So anyway these are my first 4 attempts, going out to a variety of friends to see how well they go down.... of course i've got to put the sweets in still, i just don't know what everyones favourites are yet, wouldn't want to put the wrong sweets in the wrong colour purse would i lol.

Think i can see these proving to be quite popular with my friends or indeed some of my family!
Now to stop myself from eating the sweets before they make it to the people i'm giving them to ;)

It's my first lola image i've used, i even used the new watercolour pencils that i bought this evening...just hope i've done the image some justice :)

Spent my time wisely though....crafting and revising in the crafting no i should put those the other way round really ;) So i've made a fair bit so now for the mass of photos to show you all...i tried to put these in as slideshows but blogger decided to argue with me and say that my coding was all wrong so forgive the fact that this post will end up being huge lol.

During my time away from here i've made; 2 birthday cards, 1 symapthy card, a bundle of ATCs and finsihed the exploding box (well except for the critical photo that can't be put in yet as the event hasn't happened lol).... So here we go, please be patient and have a good browse, thanks very much :)..... or seeing as blogger is being gash and i've spent half an hour trying to put photos on here, i shall just put slideshows in the pst following this one of all i have made...

First Award! :)

Yay thanks very much to vikki (vixx-a-craftin') for this lovely award, my first as well :)

Apparently I have to post these rules, so here goes:
1. You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogging community,no matter what language.
2. Each award has to give the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.
3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.
4. Award winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of
Arte y Pico blog,so everyone will know the origin of this award.
5. To show these rules.

so i pick....

  • mrswillybobs for making me laugh so much at her jokes
  • lyn (mickeys mate)
  • ruth (ooffee)
  • stacey (left handed blonde)
  • and donna though i know she's already been given it, but im glad she managed to sort herself a blog :)

so far today......

Just got back from our new place via hobbycraft (only a 8mile detour each way lol). Felt the need to go buy a few bits, and I've come home without the mulberry words that i wanted, damn will have to go to dobbies tomorrow as hobbycraft didn't have them. I was well behaved on my shopping trip though, i spent less than £10 and none of it was bought solely for me. I treated myself to: white wooden flower embellishments (for the watering can card), some jumbo blossoms and pebble brads (2 to use on the exploding box I've started), glitter 'happy birthday peel offs, heart print vellum (for the exploding box), 2 card toppers (one for the box and the other for a baby card), some dome stickers and love embellishments (both for the exploding box).

So to justify my purchases here's the finished lid for my exploding box using one of the jumbo blossoms with the lovely dotty pebble brad :)

Champagne 40th

So after finally retrieving the glue gun from our new place, i could finish the champagne card! I love using sequins on cards especially for ages as it makes it so much more aesthetically pleasing and adds a lil bit of 3d to it :) So hopefully my mums boss won't object to being reminded it's her 40th birthday as it looks pretty lol. In the background you can see the other bit of sequining that I needed to do.. the 70th birthday watering can, now all i need to do is go buy the mulberry paper 'birthday' words and perhaps some flower embellishments to finish it off.....

Priorities Right....

So we haven't moved in properly yet but we've still been trapsing boxes and bits over to the new place..but just to show my priorities are still right here's one of the first things I homed. It's my bowl of fimo hearts i made, which is now sitting in the middle of our bay window. Well i couldn't have it getting broken amongst masses of big boxes and furniture later on in the move could I ;) In fact I've moved, homed and hung all of my creations; my ribbon canvasses, painted canvasses and decorated candle votives :) lol any excuse to get my creations out safely before viewers of this place ask if they get to keep them as the advert says part furnished!

Works in progress

Whey happy today, had the 'trial shift' at the pub which turned out to not be a trial, i've got the job :) don't start properly for a fortnight as i'm moving etc but finally got a new job so i'm dead chuffed.

So after my little shift at the pub and moving a few more boxes into the new place I finally got to start some craft work again. Not quite finished either yet as the glue gun i need for sticking the sequins on got moved to the new place today in a box, damn! But anyway here's the start of the watering can card, with a template that my other half drew for me on a CAD program earlier.

Think I shall go hit hobbycraft tomorrow as well, see if i can find some goodies to put into my exploding box that is still another work in progress.

nothing much to report

So I haven't made anything the last two days, been kind of busy with the disasterpiece exam, packing boxes and having a job interview. Doubt I'll get much done tomorrow as I have a trial for a pub job *fingers crossed things go well* and that I'll have the job by 3pm. Finally getting myself around to organising bits though, it's amazing what moving house does to your organisation lol. Now I'm making cardboard copies of all the templates I have stored on my lappy so I don't have to print them every time I want to make that kind of card :)

Another champagne card

So I've managed to get the third card of my friend's order done, now for the final more difficult one. I've decided I'm going to do a watering can card as it seems apt for a botany prof who's a keen gardener.
I think the champagne cards are obviously a hit with my friends and family as my mum has asked me to make a champagne card for her boss' 40th. Damn soon I'm going to have to go and buy more green card, i only put a few sheets into my papermill box thinking I wouldn't really use it very often, oh how wrong I was!
Anyway off to do some of that gloomy revision as I have a horrible electronics exam 2mo afternoon :S wish me luck I'll need it ;)

More new cards

So today I have been asked to make some more cards for a friend, who seems to be becoming a regular customer of mine. And slowly I seem to be making cards for the whole of his family so I get to use a variety of ideas and styles for them.
So far I've only done two of the four cards requested as one takes a bit of time and the other I haven't even fathomed a starting point on yet. What exactly do you put on a card for a professor of botany, any ideas?
The golf card is obviously for a keen golfer, not quite what i planned to do originally, as i was going to do a ball shaped card, but i didn't have any A4 white card so i used a sheet of A5. So that's when I thought I'd have a ball on a golf green instead, and to be honested I'm quite impressed with it.
The second card is for an animal mad teenage girl, and the card just happens to match a present she's getting so it all fits nicely. The images, all kindly provided by Avril, are from the Heartly Farm series. I didn't like the squiggly blue hearts on the hen house so i stuck some green gemstone hearts on instead, which I think look better. I love doing decoupage cards, don't know why. I like to make my own from images I find as it's done how I'd like it to look, rather than how someone else designed it to be...maybe I'm just fussy or perhaps I enjoy making work for myself lol
