Thank You Challenge

This weeks Papertake Weekly challenge was 'thanks a latte' so i made a thank you card...didn't do the coffee colour theme as i didn't have any cream paper anywhere i my stash :( So i've gone for a more colourful approach instead...; powder blue card, lilac paper, funky fairys doodle download paper, marvy le plume inked flower stamps, squiggle sentiment and a cute image sent to me by donna.... it's been over a week since i used my watercolour pencils...shocking isn't it!
Well and truly bored now as i'm up to date with all the challenges i do regularly and can't think what to dow ith myself....and it's only the first day of the uni summer holidays!!!!!

Gutter Girlz challenge #2

Yay time for Gutter Girlz second challenge...
THE PROMPT:I'm a JUNKIE
THE SONG:Shoes by Liam Sullivan (please don't feel limited by the song, your creation doesn't have to have ANYTHING to do with shoes)
THE PRODUCT:Packaging, wrappers, or logo of your addiction...
So i've done another digi scrapbook page but only managed to get in 2 of the prompts this time but oh well it's still very me :)
Many of u will guess from my blog that my main vices are flying and aircraft so that's the theme of my scrapboo page... i've used the kit 'Little Flyer' for the embellishments, paper and frame... the logos are all aircraft or gliding based... and then there's my little bit of journalling, sounds like something you'd hear at an AA meeting, perhaps i should start Airheads Annonymous lol!

tennis george

This is my entry for this weeks Dotties World challenge which is to follow a sketch. So here's my card inspired by wimbledon being on at the moment so i finally got to use the tennis george image! :) Haven't added a sentiment to it as i don't have any set use for the card yet. My variations on the sketch where to add an extra piece of ribbon to the card and 6 white gems.

Stack Of Ellies ATC

The mid month (well end of month) challenge over at Cuddly Buddly was to make an ATC using Kim's stack of ellies doodle....here's mine :)
I stamped 'have fun!' with my marvy le plume pens for the background, coloured in the elephants with marvy le plumes and then made a decoupage so that the baby ellie was 3 layers, the middle ellie 2 layers and the bottom ellie just a single layer.

A new award!

Oooh a new award that i've never seen before! So thanks to Cathy and to Jacqui for this :)
Now i have to pass this on to 7 people...that's still a hard choice as i've got so many great blogs that visit as they are so great so here we go.... Louly, donna, lyn, kerry, jane, chrissy and emily.
1st july....and thanks tokathleen for also nominating me :)

Thank You ATC

So here's a thank you ATC i've made tonight.... any docrafters from the north east may know where it will eventually be heading but shhh for now ;) .... and it's also my entry for this weeks Lots To Do Challenge 'butterflies'
I took some shiny white card (recycled from a chocolate pack), felt butterfly embellishment, flower stamp coloured with marvy le plumes to get a variety of colours to make the background and then a squiggle 'thank you' with an italic pen :)

Tilda Sketch

So here's my entry for this weeks Tilda & Co challenge which was based on a sketch... I've used bright yellow card, chocolate coloured paper, bright orange paper, baby blue textured paper, butterfly ribbon, magnolia butterflies and tilda jumping...both sets of images coloured in with marvy le plumes... nice, quick and easy card :)

Saturday 28 June 2008

green, pink & brown challenge

So this weeks Penny Black challenge was to make a card using pink, green and brown.... here's my attempt!
I've used; brown cardstock (yes it's a v deep shade of chocloate), lime green plain paper, deep pink plain paper, pink die cut tag, 1 pink pearl brad, 2 pale green pearl brads, my new green brown and pink flower ribbon (from hobbycraft 99p buy 2 get 1 free lol) and a hedgie sent to me by donna that i have coloured in using my marvy le plume pens :) ....now it's just waiting on the appropriate sentiment to be stuck on the tag when i come to giving the card out to someone or selling it

Fairy Keychain

So here's the most recent keychain i've made and it will shortly be winging it's way off to a new home with Donna in Ireland! Hope you like it! I've used a real silver fairy pendant from a necklace long ago broke, baby pink disco ball beads, 4 white pearl colour beads and one chunky deep pink ball bead. One of a kind as i don't have anymore of this pendant in my charm box.
If anyone else would like to buy one from me then drop me an email (address shown on the right hand bar) and tell me what colours oand charm you would like and i'll see what i can do for you :)

Birthday candy

Lorraines birthday is coming up in just over a months time and to celebrate she is giving away some fabulous candy! so drop her a comment and leave a post on your blog about the birthday candy!

red, white & blue

So here's my entry for 2 of this weeks challenges... Dutch Dare were the challenge was to use 3 buttons and 3 ribbons and it couldn't be a card... and Stamp Something were the theme was red, white & blue to celebrate independence day coming up....
I made a bookmark as i'm sick of folding pages in my books! I used the red and blue stars paper as my backing (from another digi download), 3 red heart buttons, red, blue and white ribbons, red and blue gems and a 'have fun' stamp to finish off stamped using my new marvy le plume pens that arrived today :)

Gutter Girlz challenge #1

So i found this new challenge blog called Gutter Girlz, and fell in love with it! I totally dig the attitude of the ladies and i think this will be right up my street so i'm gonna try and join in every challenge...the challenges come out on the 15th & 30th of every month with a 3 part challenge, you don't have to do all 3 but each part you do earns you an extra entry for the prize :)

The most recent challenge was...
The PROMPT: What makes you feel like a Woman?
The SONG: MAN!! I Feel like a Woman! by Shania Twain
The PRODUCT: Panty Hose

So my entry is a digi scrapbook page i've done of myself, ok so the picture is about 2 years old now but i really like it, it's my grungy days as a college student lol. It's made from papers and embellishments from the 'Urban Grunge' digi download kit and it's free! I got the panty hose in, the backing on the left hand side is made up of womens legs wearing fishnets, this itself makes a fishnet pattern...they are a beautiful product called burlesque wonder fishnets. What makes me feel like a woman... well acting like one of the lads in a hoodie but being able to look good and posing for photos at the same time... so this is what this picture means to me!

Pink & black tilda....

This is my entry for this weeks Arty Girlz challenge 'Nature' and also for this weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge 'No bought patterned paper'.

So to make my paper patterned i used a dovecraft birthday stamp, then i coloured the flowers in with a crimson whispers pen and then i sponged silver ink on top of the whole piece. The image is tilda with basket of flowers, once agin watercoloured in. Silver swirl peel off stickers for the 2 empty corners. Black and pink handmade flowers from scraps of paper and some hole punch pieces to decorate the gaps....and finally the stamped sentiment (thanks again donna lol) also sponged with silver ink to make it blend with the background paper :)

Sugar Nellie Xmas card

So here's my entry for this weeks Spoon Full Of Sugar challenge where the theme was to use check patterns and also for the My Time To Craft challenge where the theme was circles.
yes i know it's a little early for xmas cards but i couldn't get the bits i wanted for my first card idea off the laptop as there's no ink in our printer so couldn't print the papers i wanted...so i recycled a few bits of xmas stuff and made this card instead.
I used; sugar nellie image (from donna) all watercoloured in xmas colours, check print ribbon (from a cake originally lol), green cardstock, merry christmas peel off, 4 red gems, brown paper with xmas pattern and circles from a hole punch to make snow :)

Summer Flowers Tilda

Here's my entry for this weeks Tilda & Co ATC Challenge where the theme is summer flowers. My ATC has embossed flower paper as the backing (thanks donna), with black flowers stamped on top of it, 2 wooden daisies, tilda with a little posie of flowers (watercoloured in again but i've just ordered some marvy le plume pens, watch this space lol) and then i coloured the side borders silver to add a touch of sparkle when the light catches it right :)
Nice to make something without thinking of revision now that i got todays 2 exams out the way, it's my night off revision tonight but i'll revising again tomorrow as i have an exam on friday morning :(

Banana Bread

Thanks to jaime for the yummy recipe for this banana bread...i made it last night as i had a few bananas floating around the kitchen that wouldn't have made it to see this morning... it went down well with the uni lads too as they all had a lil nibble of some of the bits i took in with me today :)

double challenge card

So here's my entry for this weeks Dotties World challenge 'holes' and Funky Fairys 'paper piecing' challenge....
Right i've made holes in the front of the card so it shows the inside, wher ei have then drawn silver musical notes to carry on the theme of the music from dotties jukebox in the bottom right hand corner... Dotties leotard, legwarmers, sweatbands and headband have all been paper pieced using my silver and pink spray metallic paper....yes it all looks a little flash dance or so i've been told (perhaps im too young to remember flash dance properly lol). Of course dottie has been watercoloured in.... dark purple backing paper, silver patterned corner card, metallic purple ribbon and good ol' double sided tape lol!

Papertake weekly sketch

So here's my entry for this weeks Papertake Weekly sketch challenge...a bit of a quick and simple one this time as i really couldn't get it to combine with anything else that i was making at the time so just the single challenge this time. I've used; hint of pink paper, pink ribbon, white ribbon with black flowers attached, pie die cut tag, black flower, pearl brad, happy birthday peel off, white cardstock and swirls and dots peel offs....

Sunday 22 June 2008

Dotty Tingla

Righty ho... so here we go... Here's my entry for 3 of this weeks challenges... Tilda & co where the theme was dotty, Lots To Do where the theme was children and Dutch dare where the task was to use a stmped image as your main image.
So i've used baby tinglas and teddy stamp images all watercoloured in, ABC blocks that i google image searched for, and yellow dotty backing paper for this ATC which fits in all 3 themes...the blocks and teddy have been made 3d with foam pads.

Saturday 21 June 2008

PB friend ATC wallet

Here's my entry for this weeks Pennyblack challenge where the theme was friendship and for this weeks Scrummy Stash Cafe where you had to have a hidden message on your project...
So i've made an ATC wallet (it holds an ATC so is slightly too big to be a proper ATC)...thanks to bunny from docrafts for inspiring this project!
So i've used; olive green paper, green gems, watercoloured PB hedgie stamp image, some scrap silk screen print card that i wrote the friendship quote on 'A friend is someone who knows you, but still loves you!'

Bunny Birthday...

Didn't manage to make another triple challenge card today just couldn't put it all together right :( So it's just a double for me today...make mine a jack and coke please ;) lol sorry now to be more serious....
Here's my entry for this weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge where the theme was 'birthdays' and also for this weeks Cupcake Challenge where you had to follow a sketch.... So i've used the sketch to design the card, a handful of blue gems, tan paper, pale blue paper, orange marble print card, gold ribbon, brown flower backing paper (more of the cheap stuff from a while ago), gold card and a bunny image watercoloured in... both of the last 2 items from donna in the goody pack she sent me a little while ago, thanks :)

Friday 20 June 2008

Just to say...

Ok so here's my revision break card for tonight... I gave myself half hour to get away from aircraft legislation reading.... so this card fits in with this weeks Daring Cardmakers challenge as you had to make a quick card taking half hour or less.... Stamp Something challenge as i used their sketch as the basis for the card.... and the A-Muse-A-Palooza Challenge as i used an A-Muse image and some bling too...this card will also be appearing again somewhere next week ;)
So i've used; some gingham ribbon, gem hearts, gems, ribbed paper, white cardstock, coffee card strip, 'love you' dome sticker, red textured paper (from my lots to do goodies) and the A-Muse image called 'Sky Writer'

Midsummer Tilda

This week Jacqui is the guest designer over on Tilda & Co ATC challenge and her challenge is to make a tilda ATC with the theme of midsummer nights dream...Here's my ATC for the challenge. I used; magnolia tree corner and gonlin mushroom stamps, and summer tilda image (all 3 watercoloured in of course) and then i sponged on some silver and gold ink onto the background to give it a little glimmer and shine :)

Triple challenge again

Right another tripled up challenge card...this time it's for this weeks SBS18 challenge where the theme set by jane was the colour lilac... Spoon Full Of Sugar where the theme was celebration...and Arty Girlz with the theme hint of pink...
So i've used: lilac card, backing paper from the hint of pink collection, pink gems, pink ribbon, pink sentiment mounted on lilac paper and a sugar nellie watercoloured in with pinks and lilacs...all these challenges fitted so easily together it would have been too hard to make separate ones for each lol

Monday 16 June 2008

Hot colour dottie

Phew! So here's another triple challenge that happened to fall so well into place again...
The theme at Dotties World this week was floral, so i've used some flowers i found in a digi scrapbooking kit i've got called Long Hot Summer and of course i needed a dottie image so i used dottie cooking....
The theme at Papertake Weekly was hot colours...so i've used lots of yellow, red and orange...all the colours are warm except for the little touches of blue i used on the dottie image...even the brads are gold and brass coloured to be burnt colours!
This weeks Funky Fairy challenge was to have something to do with food on the card...so i've used the cake that dottie has baked to fulfill the challenge.....
3 challenges down, 2 to go lol

Sunday 15 June 2008

bride's dress card

I saw that someone had made one of these cards for the SBS18 challenge this week and i just had to make one myself. This is going to one of the OH's sisters as she's getting married at the start of august.....

So i've used:
  • lilac cardstock
  • gold heart print vellum
  • pearl and silver brads
  • textured white card, stamped with silver
  • vellum sentiment mounted on lilac paper
  • pink ribbon
  • beige mottled card to represent skin tone
  • 7 pearlescent beads and tiger tail for the necklace
  • flowers cut out from some funky fairys papers

and of course the template that i found on Paperscrapz

i've won :O

woah...not only am i getting the prize from last weeks tilda & co ATC challenge but i've just found that i won the blog candy over on lots to do as well :O i'm shocked, i never normally win anything!

serendipity attempt

So here we go with another tripled up challenge card... this weeks challenge at Lots to do was to use words on a card, so i have used my 'wonderful words' stamp on the sides of the card....at Tilda & Co the challenge was serendipity, well that was a bit of confusing one till i realised it meant collage some scraps lol....and lastly i used a sketch i found last night whilst bloghopping for a challenge called The Cupcake Challenge so it made it a lot easier to figure how to use all these challenges idea in one :)

Saturday 14 June 2008

PB birthday

Seeing as i'm heading into a busy fortnight and i don't want to fall behind on challenges i'm gonna have to go back to doing multi challenges in everything i make...so here's another tripled up challenge card...
This is for the new challenge blog Penny Black where the challenge was to use your first pennyblack image, mine was this lovey hedgie carrying a pressie. It also fits in with the Stamp Something challenge 'monochromatic' where you could use as many shades of one colour (in my case green) and one neutral colour such as black or white...just excuse the blue ribbon lol i picked out the wrong watercolour pencil lol....and last but not least it's my twist of this weeks Scrummy Stash Cafe challenge sketch that had to include paint... so i used paint on the edges of my green flower and painted the card background as it was a little too brown for my liking....phew so there we have it :)

Friday 13 June 2008

Tower Box

I've been looking at this template on crafty cow for weeks nowand tonight i've been bored so thought i'd give it a try.... so here's my tower box makein purple and lime green with my last flower on the lid with a green gem flower to hold it in place....and for anyone else who has a go and wonders what the square piece of origami paper for making the boxes i used 6inch x 6inch to make mine the perfect size get them the width of the side panels :)

Tilda from scraps

This is my entry for this weeks Tilda & Co ATC challenge with the theme 'scraps' where we had to only use scraps of papers rather than cutting up new sheets and any other odds and ends that we may have buried in our craft stash...

So i've used; a tilda image that my printer ate slightly lol hence her being scrap, backing paper left over from my mums chipboard purse, the last 2 orange flowers, scrap gold n black papers and a rub off that didnt quite rub off fully so i used pen to finish it off which works well with the scrappy idea...and then a stamped corner just to try out my new clear studio g stamp set

Thursday 12 June 2008

Tri-fold dottie

Here is my entry for 3 of this weeks challenges.... Dotties World where the theme was 'stripes and stitching', Cute Card Thursday '3 types of embellishments' and Funky Fairys 'Tri-things' challenge....
So i've used a tri-fold for the card shape, with pastel striped paper, dottie in the bath image watercoloured in, ribbon used as stitching as i'm not in the mood for real stitching after a day of metal work lol, purple gems, 2 purple buttons, happy birthday peel off and 2 flower embellishments (one yellow, one lime)....and that's it for tonight it's been heavy going getting this finished and refurbishing my blog lol

Tuesday 10 June 2008

Sunday 8 June 2008

Modeer Karkara

No i haven't gone totally mad and the sun hasn't gotten the better of me today.....the text on this card makes sense if you understand a tad of arabic lol... one of the guys i go to uni with is libyan and it's his birthday tomorrow so i've made him a card of an aircraft he works on and some relevant titles for him... 'modeer' means boss, manager, chief etc and karkara is his fathers name...the other libyan guy at uni told me to put these things on here as apparently it's very respectful and lovdly to put on a card... he's the boss of an aircraft maintainance place at a libyan airport by the way and the other guy is one of his staff lol :)

Saturday 7 June 2008

Go bananas

Here's my entry for this weeks Stamp Something challenge 'wildlife'. I've used the cheeky monkey stamp and banana stamps with the sentiment...thanks to jacqui for these :) ....green leaf card (good ol' tesco kids pack lol) mulbery paper birthday and green and yellow gems...the monkey has been layered up with sdome foam pads so he becomes the main focus of the card... quick, simple and cheeky i really like it

Friday 6 June 2008

I've sold a keychain!

A lady on do crafts contacted me about the keychains i've been making recently and posting on my gallery on there...she asked me if i could make her one and she would pay me for it...how shocked was i, i haven't sold anything yet to anyone but family and friends...so i'm over the moon! She asked for something lilac, pink, purple or turqoise, with preferably a butterfly as the charm if not anything but shoes lol.... so this is what i have made for her... a lilac butterfly keychain using my newest charms that i ordered from ebay last week :) So here's to hopefully my first happy customer!

tagged again, again!

I've Been Tagged....AGAIN!Since I have answered these once I will switch up the questions. . .

4) THINGS I WOULD DO IF I WAS A MOVIE STAR...constantly travel, fly, buy my own aeroplane and get the license to fly it myself like john travolta does

5) 3 PLACES I HAVE VISITED...USA, Austria, Greece

erm...help urself to this one ladies and gents lol!

Thursday 5 June 2008

Good luck tilda

One of my mum's work colleagues is leaving at the end of the month so my mum asked me to make a leaving card that was girly...so i took lilac A5 card folded vertically, tilda with a bouquet, some pink gems, kate knight hint of pink paper, pink tissue paper, some word art, a chunky stripe brad, my watercolour pencils and some pink paper to make a flower that blends with the leaves on the backing paper....and this is what i ended up with...i think it ticks all the right boxes with what my mum asked for and i really like it as well, so all in all a pretty good make if i say so myself lol!

Wednesday 4 June 2008

Untraditional folds!

So here's my entry for challenge #4 at SBS 18 challenges, this weeks challenge was set by vicki c....and it was....use untraditional folds if any at all and onyl to use red, pink, back and white..
I used the secret heart template firstly on white card, then covered the large flap in glossy black paper and put some white flower peel offs on it to decorate the visible corners when it's closed...then i covered the heart pieces with red ribbed card and the latch with deep pink paper... and of course no project of mine recently would be finished without some gems so i added some red and baby pink gems to add a bit of sparkle to it :)
guess this is going to my OH as he's acting like he's the only person to have ever had a bad day,... has he tried having all the revision and stuff i've had for the last few weeks? i'd rather have his office job at the moment lol

Give me sunshine!

So this is my entry for this weeks tilda and friends ATC challenge 'give me sunshine' and also for this weeks lots to do challenge 'rainbows'. I used yellow seed beads for the sun, some scrap paper to make a picnic blanket, tilda eating ice cream image (watercoloured in of course lol) and then i did something very not me.....i used oil pastels for the background as my watercolours were naff on the card i had, haven't used pastels in years so it looks a little like a child has attacked it with pastels lol but at least it's bright and cheery :)

Tuesday 3 June 2008

piece of cake

This is my entry for this weeks funky fairy challenge 'buttons and beads' though i'm not too sure what i think of this one, perhaps it's just a little too clean cut round the edges? So anyway it's made from a cake piece template; beige card background, wood effect paper for the sponge, pink raspberry paper for the jam, blue scrunched paper for the icing border, lots of seed beads for a jam line and sprinkles..and a heart button as the main decoration, not o forget the happy birthday glittery peel off on the bottom. Just a quick and simple card to get my mind off the revision i've spent most of the day doing lol

beady goodness

So here's my first piece i've made today... another keychain... i had to give my new charms a use as they are just so fab..there's; stars, moons, turtles, princess crowns, teddies, elephants, butterlflies, penguins and dragonflies. I thought i'd use one of the princess crowns first as i'd just found some wuite girly beads in my bead tower... the keychain is made up of; princess crown charm, 2 flower spacer beads, 2 tube spacer beads, some lilac seed beads and some purple conical glass beads. So here's another one to add to the collection for the SBS18 ladies birthday pressies!

My second make of the evening is a beaded charm bracelet. The beads are all recycled from previous bits of jewellery that i've had, i've got a mountain of red, black and white ebads so i thought i'd whack them onto a silver link bracelet and see what happened... only used half the beads so may have to make another one at some point lol... got a load of lilac, pinks and purple beads too so i may make some similar bracelets out of those as well :)

Monday 2 June 2008

Tilda jigsaw

This weeks challenge at Tilda & Co was to make a tilda item that wasn't a card, so i made scene with princess tilda and the frog, magnolia birds, a pretty pink catle and sentiment from happily ever after and stuck them onto scraps of blue, white and green paper to form the scenery. This was then stuck to a piece of card to give it some strength....then i decided to cut it all up into 20 pieces to form a jigsaw puzzle :) quick, simple and fun, now who to give it to?

Sunday 1 June 2008

Toe tapper

This is my entry for this weeks daring cardmakers where the challenge was to make a shaped card....so i thought i'd try and be a bit different and use the toe tapper template for the first time, i've had it sitting in a drawer for ages never knowing when to use it lol. Think i may have made the flower slightly too big as it takes up most of the front of the shoe but for a first attempt at this i'm quite pleased especially as there weren't any instructions with it...perhaps the next one will be a little bit more adventurous in the patterns and decoration.

A spoonful of summer

There's a fab new challenge blog called A Spoonful Of Sugar and their first challenge is the theme summer... so here's my card for the challenge. I used the image lola with flowers and watercoloured it in, a felt butterfly embellishment, more gems, some gem flowers, dotty ribbon, lime green card stock and some pretty flowery summery backing paper by stacey claire boyd. So there we go :) challenge 3 of the day!

Dottie Sketch Challenge

So here's my entry for this weeks Dotties world challenge, quick off the mark this week but it's raining here so i couldn't go flying so i'm doing all the challenges i can to keep me busy. The challenge this week was to use the sketch, this is my take on it. I used hammock dottie with sunglasses from the dottie at home set, swirly backing paper from cuddly buddly freebie papers, pink, red and green gems and of course a big paper flower and chunky brad...they seem to be my favourite embellishment at the moment.

Cuddly buddly flight challenge

This is my entry for this fortnights cuddly buddly challenge, where the theme is flight. This is the onyl image i had from cuddly buddly that was flying, i couldn't afford to splash out on more images this time so i've used some of the freebies again. Cotton wool ball clouds quite literally lol and some torn yellow paper to represent the sun, so the hugbug is soaring high above the clouds :)
