Card Orders

So here's a few of the cards I've made for orders in recent months....
The first was for a wedding of 2 teachers and the customer wanted the teacher theme to be the main element of the card. I hand drew and cut all the elements and used Stampin Ups Sassy Salutations stamp set for the sentiment.

Then there was an 18th birthday to make a card for. Phoebe is into singing and dancing so that was the theme for the card. All items hand drawn and cut, sentiment is also from the Sassy Salutations stamp set.

50th birthday card for the father in law. Car comes from the Stampin Up Need For Speed stamp set.

First birthday card for a little girl, wasn't allowed to do an owl as she's scared of birds so a giraffe was a safer option. Giraffe stanp from Stampin Up set Zoo Review.

Then i received a challenge to draw a horse and match the colours up to something similar to that of a horse the recipient had years ago. Took quite a while to get the shape drawn out right, but I'm very happy with the end result. I used SU Sassy Salutations for the happy birthday, free hand wrote the name and heat embossed all the text in gold.

Poppy Birthday Cake

In November my nan turned 80, her birthday is the 11th so she has always been into poppies. I took the challenge to make her a birthday cake to celebrate the occasion.
The cake itself is a lemon sponge, similar to that used in a lemon drizzle cake, but I added fresh lemon juice and zest into the cake mix. I cut the sponge into 2 layers and added a layer of strawberry jam to add flavour.
Then I iced and decorated the cake, covering it in poppies. Maybe i should have taken a photo of the state of my hands after rolling the colours Into the icing, I was covered in red dye!
Not bad for my first attempt at icig and decorating a cake without being on a cake decorating course.
She loved the cake so I guess it can be called a success. Even got asked for the sponge recipe...still haven't shared the recipe with anyone though.

Her other favourite thing is giraffes...so I took on the design challenge of making a giraffe themed birthday card too...
 I used:
  • Zoo Review stamp set
  • Sassy Salutations stamp set
  • Hexagon Punch
